Terram can be used for a wide range of ground stabilisation applications i.e. Access Roads For this application Terram is usually laid directly on the unprepared subgrade. Permanent Flexible Pavements In this environment Terram can act as a long term stabiliser preventing sub-base contamination from a soft subgrade,both during construction phase and throughout the design life of the pavement. Permanent Rigid Pavements In the case of rigid pavements,rocking of the slab can create high suction pressures at the subgrade/sub-base interface drawing fines into the granular layer. Treatment of very Soft Ground Where the subgrade is very soft it may be prudent to use grades of Terram which have higher tensile strengths to aid constructability.i.e. soft peat,sludge capping layers etc. Area Stabilisation Terram s also used as a stabiliser in the construction of parking areas,sports areas,airfields and other earth fill applications
